ECHIS-Challenge
The ECHIS Challenge is your opportunity to revolutionize the capabilities of the German Bundeswehr—particularly in detecting or carrying out GNSS spoofing—and to ensure its ability to act in times of crisis. ECHIS brings together innovative teams from research, the startup scene, small and medium-sized businesses, and industry to develop new technological solutions in the field of GNSS spoofing.
We are looking for disruptive technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible: In scenarios where positioning is hampered by spoofing and operational command and control is pushed to its limits by an intelligence picture clouded by electronic warfare, we need your solution. ECHIS is seeking early-stage technologies and solution components that, in particular, incorporate innovative approaches to the detection, classification, characterization, and localization of GNSS spoofing, as well as to the translation of these results into situational information that can be utilized by emergency responders.
The challenge is structured as a multi-stage competition, progressing from an open call for submissions through the selection of the best concepts to the practical testing of developed demonstrators.
ECHIS is a structured innovation competition run by the Cyberagentur in close coordination with the Kommando Cyber- und Informationsraum. The focus is on technological concepts and solutions that are technically sound, implementation-oriented, and suitable for later validation in a realistic test environment.
Participation is open to large and small industrial companies, startups, university and non-university research institutions, and even individuals with the relevant technical expertise. Interdisciplinary teams from different institutions are also cordially invited to participate.
The following requirements must be met by all participants:
All participants must be of legal age.
Certain groups of people are also excluded due to security regulations. This includes citizens of states on the lists of states within the meaning of Section 13 (1) No. 17 of the Security Check Act (SÜG).
